EVERETT — A Sedro-Woolley man was killed when he crashed his motorcycle on Highway 530 east of Arlington on Thursday evening.

Troopers responded just after 6 p.m. for reports of a motorcycle that had crashed while traveling westbound near 300th Street Northeast, according to a release from Washington State Patrol.

Aaron Jones, 55, died at the scene of the crash, troopers said.

Investigators said the man failed to negotiate a curve and hit a Department of Transportation sign, according to the release.

The motorcycle came to a rest on the westbound shoulder of Highway 530, troopers said. The crash did not block any lanes of traffic, according to Trooper Kelsey Harding.

Troopers said the man was wearing a helmet and its unknown if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.
