BISMARCK – Jamestown Blue Jays sophomore Braelyn Wiese completed play Tuesday in the Class A State Golf Championships at Riverwood Golf Course with improvement and a 13th-place finish individually.
Wiese finished with a 36-hole total of 169 (+25) and shot 82 on Tuesday, a seven-shot improvement from Monday’s first round.
In her third season playing for the Blue Jay varsity, Wiese was all-WDA and all-west region. Her Tuesday round at state was within one stroke of her best round this season, an 81 at the Bismarck High Invitational.
JHS Girls Golf Head Coach Katie Hemmer said of Wiese, “She is a mentally strong golfer who demonstrates emotional maturity on the golf course. This is advanced for a 10th grader. Some golfers search for mental and emotional control for their entire golf careers.”
Sheyenne won its second straight team championship, improving 17 strokes from the first round. The medalist was Isabella Hale of Mandan.
