Jimmie Men’s Soccer Earns Draw At Upper Iowa

FAYETTE, IA – Jamestown Jimmies Men’s Soccer used an equalizing goal from Joshua Jackson in the 73rd minute Wednesday to earn a 3-3 draw with Upper Iowa at Harms-Eischeid Stadium.

Jackson took a left corner cross from Finley Comstock for the tying goal for Jamestown (1-8-4), who had surrendered three straight goals to the Peacocks after taking a 2-0 lead.

Nuutti Norhomaa scored his sixth goal of the season in the third minute after taking a long ball from Kai Yoshida and using one dribble.

In the 31st minute, Sohaib Bouika el Haddad Kaddour made a short pass to Yoshida, who then found Jack Greenwood cutting down the left side.  He scored to give UJ a 2-0 lead.

Only 31 seconds later, Bouika el Haddad Kaddour took down a UIU player in the box, leading to a penalty kick goal by Alejandro Suarez.  UJ led 2-1 at halftime.

In the 55th minute, Jimmies goalkeeper Valon Ismali brought down an Upper Iowa player in the box to lead to another penalty kick.  Timur Nagy converted to even the match at 2-2.

Nagy scored again in the 63rd minute on a one-timer from just outside the box and UIU led 3-2.

Ismali made two saves for Jamestown.  Jamestown outshot Upper Iowa 20-15 and 7-5 in goal and scored a season high in goals.

The Jimmies will face Western Washington Saturday in Bellingham, Washington.
