Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – ORA Iraq has officially signed a contract with CRC Dorra to build the first phase of its massive flagship project, Madinat Al Ward (City of Flowers).
A ceremony was held in Baghdad to sign the deal in the presence of Naguib Sawiris, Chairman of ORA Developers, and Mohamed Dorra, Vice Chairman of Dorra Group.
The partnership represents the official transition into structural building activity after POWERCHINA, a Chinese state-owned business, completed the earthworks and ground preparation.
The first phase of the master-planned integrated city will require a large expenditure of $10 billion. It will take eight years to complete and will include residential, commercial, and administrative units, as well as hotels.
Named after the late Iraqi sociologist and scholar Ali al-Wardi, the new city project will span 61 million square meters on the southeastern side of Baghdad.
The new residential city will include 120,000 different housing units along with green spaces, urban amenities, and smart city technology to apply cutting-edge standards in sustainability and environmental preservation.
One of its most remarkable features is a unique five million square meter public park, which demonstrates ORA’s dedication to developing urban landscapes that value social well-being and environmental sustainability.
