“We seek to strengthen our cooperation with trusted partners in the fields of AI, secure supply chains, semiconductors, critical minerals and technological innovation,” said Minister Kajzer after signing the Statement. He highlighted the opportunities that closer transatlantic cooperation offers Slovenian businesses and innovators. “We need to ensure that transatlantic cooperation on AI generates opportunities for collaboration and investment across the entire ecosystem, from leading technology companies to European and Slovenian innovators.”

“We must strive to establish a transatlantic AI ecosystem in which US technological leadership and European innovation are mutually beneficial, allowing countries such as Slovenia to be active partners rather than merely end users of technologies,” Minister Kajzer added.

The Joint Statement is aimed at enhancing cooperation among the signatories in the development and application of AI, particularly in the economic and technological spheres. Key elements include promoting innovation, strengthening secure and resilient supply chains, encouraging international cooperation and private-sector involvement and fostering collaboration based on shared values. Another important objective is to improve access to energy, semiconductors and computing infrastructure, while reducing dependence on unreliable supply chains.

The signing of the Joint Statement marks an initial step towards Slovenia’s potential joining Pax Silica. Presented by the US in December 2025, the initiative aims to strengthen cooperation among trusted partners in global technology supply chains and AI, thereby enhancing security and resilience while reducing strategic dependencies.
