SOUTH BEND — Two people died and another was in critical condition after a shooting Saturday night in a residential area, South Bend Police Department said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Officers got a report at 11:25 p.m. Saturday of a large fight in the 1300 block of Bissell Street. That’s a few blocks northeast of downtown South Bend.
Police arrived to find three people with serious injuries. Two of those people later died, and the third remained in critical condition at a hospital on Sunday. Police were not releasing the names of the people who died until they notified their families.
No arrest has been announced.

The fatal shooting happened about four hours after a shooting outside the Notre Dame Stadium at the start of a football game that injured a police office and a woman. No arrest has been announced in the shooting near the stadium.
