Greater efficiency by municipal corporations can lead to the quicker provision of housing developments in Jamaica.

That’s what Prime Minister, Dr. Andrew Holness told his audience while speaking at the groundbreaking for the Greater Bernard Lodge in St. Catherine on Friday

Seven hundred homes are set to be erected under the Bernard Lodge Housing Development.

The project is being done by the National Housing Trust, NHT, the Housing Agency of Jamaica, HAJ, and M & M Jamaica Limited.

Those homes are being built with the goal of expanding the supply available for contributors of the NHT.

Dr. Holness also urged all the stakeholders involved in the Bernard Lodge Housing development to work efficiently to deliver the homes by 2028.

Prime Minister Holness notes that housing delivery is key to reducing squatting.
