The National Police (PN) included four people allegedly involved in a fraud scheme against the General Directorate of Revenue (DGI), through the appropriation of tax credits through the e-Tax 2.0 system, on the list of the most wanted. The list includes individuals with stakes in corporations that received or participated in the purchase and sale of tax credits, which caused a loss of at least $40 million.
Among them is Dídimo Rodríguez Ayala, linked to La Naranja BP, SA, one of the intermediary companies used to place the tax credits. Also appearing on the most wanted list are Luis Alberto Gaitán, Efraín Cherigo Moreno and Renaul Delgado.
In this case, called Pandora, the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime managed to indict 21 people for the crimes of money laundering, corruption and falsification of documents.
The prosecutor’s office has carried out several inspections within the DGI in search of documents and information related to the processing of fraudulent tax credits.
