Finance Minister and House Commission XI approve Finance Ministry’s 2027 Budget Plan – ObserverID

Jakarta, IO – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa and House of Representatives Commission XI have agreed on the Finance Ministry’s 2027 Work Plan and Budget (RKA) during a working meeting in Jakarta on Monday (Sept. 7).

During the meeting, Commission XI approved a Rp49.80 trillion budget ceiling for the Finance Ministry under the 2027 State Budget (APBN). The allocation will support the ministry’s duties and functions through five main programs.

The budget is broken down into Rp78.86 billion for the Fiscal, Financial Sector and Economic Policy Program; Rp3.62 trillion for the State Revenue Management Program; Rp23.78 billion for the State Expenditure Management Program; Rp267.58 billion for the Treasury, State Assets and Risk Management Program; and Rp45.81 trillion for the Management Support Program.

As part of the agreement, the Finance Ministry and Commission XI stressed the need for greater budget efficiency, with spending tied more closely to effective outputs, outcomes and impacts. The move is intended to ensure that every rupiah of state spending delivers maximum benefits for the public and the national economy.

To strengthen budget accountability, the Finance Ministry will also submit quarterly performance reports throughout 2027. The reports will provide measurable updates on program implementation and budget use, including how targets, programs, activities, outputs, outcomes, impacts, fiscal and economic conditions, and beneficiaries are linked to the resources allocated.

Regular reporting is expected to provide a clearer picture of the ministry’s effectiveness and efficiency basis for evaluating performance and improving results in subsequent periods.

The evaluation findings can then be used by Commission XI, through working meetings with the finance minister, to recommend improvements in budget planning, allocation and implementation. This is expected to make the ministry’s spending more effective, efficient, targeted and focused on measurable results and public benefits.

At the meeting, Minister Purbaya also expressed his appreciation for the constructive and productive working meetings and hearings held with Commission XI.

“We thank the leadership and members of Commission XI for approving the Finance Ministry’s proposed 2027 budget ceiling of Rp49.80 trillion,” Purbaya said. (eka)
