The new season of the Jamaica Premier League is set to kick off this Sunday September 13.
Fans of the local game are hoping this will be third time lucky after two previous dates for the start were missed.
The league will also return with the popular Monday night games and a new title sponsor in Wisynco under its Legend Beer Brand, replacing Wray and Nephew.
Champions Portmore United sought and were granted permission for their first two games in the competition to be postponed due to their participation in the Caribbean Club Championships,
As a result they will open the defense of their title on Sunday September 27 against Waterhouse at Ferdie Neita Park.
Sunday’s first round of games will feature Mount Pleasant away to promoted Tru Juice at Brammy Clarke Sports Complex, Cavalier play away to Dunbeholden at the Dunbeholden Complex.
Humble Lion returns against Tivoli Gardens at the Edward Seaga Complex and Montego Bay United host Chapleton Maroons at Jarrett Park, all games starting at 3.30pm.
The last two games in the round will be played on Monday in a double header at Stadium East with Molynes facing Treasure Beach at 5.30 and Racing versus Arnett Gardens at 8pm.
