After falling behind 5-3 in the first set, the Cards (1-0) went on a 10-2 run to take control of the first set behind the hitting of senior co-captain Harper Kollman, who led the team with thirteen kills for the match, as the Cards took the opening set by four.
The Panthers (0-1) scored the first two points of the second set before Carrington went on a 13-2 run behind the serving of Kollman and the hitting of Marah Johnson and Maara Kutz, who combined for twenty kills as Carrington won the set in dominant fashion 25-11.
Carrington never trailed in the third set as Aniston Hoornaert delivered assists on several big kills, including one from Calleigh Hewitt to end the match on the second match point.
