Towards the end of August of this year, “Asia-Plus” decided to find out from Dushanbe residents how much money they had to spend on preparing their children for school. Each family has at least two schoolchildren, and according to respondents, expenses grow with each passing year.

We were interested not only in school uniforms, but also in prices for school supplies. The survey was conducted at the end of August, but as it turned out, some parents had only just begun purchasing school items and so far had only acquired uniforms.

As a result, the majority spent between 300 to 1500 somoni on school preparations. At the same time, they said that most of the money went towards the school uniform itself. Many noted that this year’s preparation for school cost more than last year.

When asked how much prices had increased compared to last year, Dushanbe residents noted that the difference was approximately 600 somoni and higher.
