Discussions regarding mechanisms for localizing the prosthetics industry and related services within Libya by attracting branches and centres of specialized international companies were held.

This initiative aims to facilitate the transfer of expertise and modern technologies, develop the national workforce, and reduce the need for treatment and services abroad.

This came after a meeting held today at the headquarters of the National Centre for Prosthetics chaired by Mohamed Ben Ghalbon, Minister of State for Prime Ministerial and Cabinet Affairs, and attended by Al-Sadiq Al-Haddad, Director General of the National Centre for Prosthetics, and Abdulrahman Al-Zawawi, Head of the Libyan Amputees Association.

The meeting addressed the Centre’s needs and ways to overcome the obstacles it faces, aiming to improve the therapeutic and rehabilitative services provided to amputees and ensure they receive necessary care in accordance with the highest standards.

The attendees emphasized the importance of establishing practical steps to implement these initiatives, thereby enhancing services for amputees and ensuring their sustainability and development.
