Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police busted an inter-district robbers gang and arrested four of its key members near Kushfara village while planing for a dacoity on Monday night.Cops also seized one country made pistol of 0.32 bore along with eight live cartridges, one country made pistol of 0.315 bore along with three live cartridges, sharp edge weapons from their possession.A senior cop said, “A police team was patrolling the Delhupur area received a tip-off that a group of robbers had assembled in an orchard near the Shani Dev Dham gate, were planning to execute a dacoity. Upon spotting the police, the miscreants attempted to flee but the police team used necessary force to arrest four of the accused, while one managed to escape the scene on a motorcycle by taking advantage of the darkness. The arrested robbers were identified as Meraj alias Adil, Saif, Sadab, and Naushad alias Nushad, all residents of Pratapgarh.”Police said Saif and Meraj alias Adil have seven and three criminal cases pending against them respectively, including robbery, dacoity, violations of the Gangsters Act, Arms Act, and Explosive Substances Act, as well as fraud and attempted murder.
