ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Former state Rep. Sheryl Williams Stapleton could change her plea in her state criminal case after a jury found her guilty on more than 30 federal counts.
Court documents show Williams Stapleton is scheduled for a change of plea hearing next week.
The hearing involves the state criminal case.
Last week, a jury found Williams Stapleton guilty on more than 30 counts tied to federal corruption charges.
As it stands now, Williams Stapleton faces more than 500 years in prison.
