Libya Tripoli based Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdel Sadig, held a meeting with Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell, on the sidelines of the ONS 2026 conference and exhibition in Norway.

The meeting discussed the progress of the company’s work in Libya and the steps required to move from technical studies to investment and development. It also addressed Shell’s participation in developing the Libyan gas sector and leveraging its expertise in gas development, marketing, and flaring reduction.

The Minister emphasized the importance of building upon existing cooperation to support Shell’s broader return to the Libyan market and transform current cooperation into practical investments and projects.
