Libya Oil Minister Discusses Production Growth with TotalEnergies CEO

Libya’s Ministry of Oil and Gas.

Continuing his series of meetings on the margins of the ONS 2026 conference in Norway, Libya’s Tripoli based Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdel Sadig, held a meeting with Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of Total Energies.

The meeting discussed the company’s investment programme in the Waha concessions following their extension until 2050, plans to increase production and develop infrastructure, as well as the progress of production at the Mabrouk field and its development plans for the next phase.

The two sides also discussed opportunities to expand gas investment, reduce flaring, and convert gas into economic value, as well as renewable energy projects, emphasizing the importance of accelerating new investments by the company in Libya.
