Even as speculation grows over possible disciplinary action against Telangana Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, her daughter Konda Sushmitha is reportedly exploring the option of joining the Jana Sena Party in Telangana.

Sushmitha recently triggered a political controversy with her remarks against Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

The issue has now created serious problems for Surekha, with the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee issuing a show-cause notice and some party leaders demanding strong action.

According to reports, the Congress high command is also examining the issue. There is speculation that a recommendation for Surekha’s removal from the Cabinet could be sent to the Governor after Revanth Reddy returns to Hyderabad.

Amid these developments, reports suggest that Sushmitha has been in touch with Jana Sena leaders in Hyderabad.

There is also talk that she could meet a key Jana Sena leader in Jubilee Hills, with the Parakala Assembly constituency and organisational responsibilities in the erstwhile Warangal district likely to be discussed.

If Sushmitha moves towards Jana Sena, it could become politically significant as relations between the Konda family and the Congress leadership appear to be under strain.

The development is also being linked to Sushmitha’s political ambitions in Parakala. Her recent comments reportedly questioned the Chief Minister’s role in political decisions concerning the constituency.

For the Congress, the issue has become a difficult one.

The party has to maintain discipline over public criticism of its leadership while also managing the fallout involving a senior Cabinet minister. Demands from some legislators for Surekha’s removal have made the controversy more serious.

The Congress leadership’s next move will therefore be closely watched.

If the disciplinary process leads to Surekha’s removal from the Cabinet or expulsion from the party, the gap between the Konda family and the Congress could widen further.

For now, however, there is no official confirmation that Sushmitha has decided to join Jana Sena.
