34 professionals received certification on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, after completing the Chartered Corporate Secretary Programme offered by the Caribbean Governance Training Institute.

Representing statutory bodies, state-owned enterprises, and private sector organisations across Grenada, the participants were equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to provide effective support to boards and senior management teams. The programme also strengthened their ability to promote accountability, transparency, sound decision-making, and good governance.

Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Permanent Secretary Maraise Francis charged the new corporate secretaries: “I urge you to demonstrate the value of this training through better documentation and reporting, stronger compliance, more effective advisory support, and a renewed commitment to ethical and accountable governance across our statutory bodies, state-owned enterprises, and wherever you serve.”

Earning the CCSec designation marks a significant achievement for the graduates and a vital step toward elevating corporate secretarial practices across the nation. By applying these newly acquired standards and ethical principles, these professionals will help strengthen governance frameworks, improve board operations, and support greater institutional accountability in both the public and private sectors.

As the Government of Grenada continues its efforts to strengthen public entities and raise the standard of institutional governance, the country’s growing pool of professionally trained corporate secretaries will play an increasingly important role in helping institutions operate with greater efficiency, transparency and accountability.
