Sunny, warm weather is expected throughout the week, with a slight cooling mid-week; showers and thunderstorms are possible only at the beginning and end of the week, and only in some areas — according to a forecast by HungaroMet Zrt. issued to MTI on Sunday.
On Monday, largely clear and dry conditions are expected, though cloud cover may increase from the west from the afternoon onwards, and there is a small chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms arriving from the direction of the Alps. The southerly wind will occasionally pick up in Northern Transdanubia and the Northern Hungarian Mountains, while elsewhere conditions will remain mostly moderate. Temperatures are set to reach between 31 and 37 degrees Celsius by the afternoon.
On Tuesday, mostly sunny weather is expected alongside veil and cumulus clouds, with showers or thunderstorms likely to develop only in a few places — mainly in the western, south-western, and north-eastern parts of the country. The wind, shifting to north-westerly, will freshen in an increasing number of areas and strengthen in some spots. Temperatures in the early morning will generally be between 16 and 22 degrees Celsius, with warmer conditions near bodies of water, at higher elevations, in city centres, and in the Little Hungarian Plain. Afternoon temperatures of 32–38 degrees Celsius are forecast, with the highest values in the Great Hungarian Plain.
On Wednesday, predominantly clear or sunny, dry weather is in prospect. The northerly to north-easterly wind will freshen in many areas, occasionally strengthening, particularly in Transtiszia. Early morning temperatures will generally be between 17 and 24 degrees Celsius, while afternoon highs of 27–34 degrees Celsius are likely, with the lowest values recorded in the north-east.
On Thursday, cloudless or clear, sunny, and dry conditions are expected. The northeasterly wind will pick up mainly in the eastern part of the country. Temperatures will likely range between 9 and 19 degrees Celsius in the early morning hours and between 28 and 33 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.
On Friday, cloudless or clear, sunny weather will continue with no precipitation. The northeasterly wind will freshen at times in the eastern and northeastern parts of the country. The lowest overnight temperature will be between 8 and 19 degrees Celsius, with the highest daytime temperature reaching between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius.
On Saturday, the largely cloudless or clear, sunny, and dry weather will continue. Variable winds will remain light to moderate. The minimum temperature will be between 8 and 20 degrees, and the maximum between 31 and 36 degrees.
On Sunday, mostly clear or slightly cloudy, sunny weather is expected. There is some chance of showers and thunderstorms in the northwest. The southerly wind will pick up. Temperatures will rise from 10–22 degrees Celsius in the early morning to between 32 and 38 degrees Celsius by the afternoon.
