Seven new cases of West Nile fever in Skopje

This week, seven new cases of West Nile fever have been registered in Skopje – two from the municipalities of Kisela Voda and Gazi Baba and one each from Ilinden, Butel and Aerodrom. The newly infected people are aged between 60 and 84 and all are hospitalized.

A total of 16 patients are currently hospitalized at the Infectious Diseases Clinic, and for 15 of them, the infection has been confirmed with lab tests. Three patients are in critical condition and are intubated – informed the Healthcare Ministry.
As informed by the Ministry, the three critical cases are elderly people with prior conditions. The remaining patients, as emphasized in the statement, are in stable condition and are receiving appropriate treatment.
