Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The head of Iraq’s National State Forces Alliance, Ammar Al-Hakim, met with Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology Hossein Simaei Sarraf in Baghdad to discuss expanding academic cooperation between Iraq and Iran through university partnerships, knowledge exchange, and joint educational initiatives.

The meeting focused on strengthening higher education ties while emphasizing the role of universities in addressing labor market needs and societal challenges.

According to a statement released by Al-Hakim’s office, the two sides reviewed opportunities to deepen cooperation between Iraqi and Iranian universities by promoting twinning agreements, expanding academic collaboration, and exchanging expertise.

The discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional relationships to support scientific research and educational development in both countries.

During the meeting, Al-Hakim stressed that university graduates should possess skills that match the demands of today’s job market.

He also urged academic institutions to prioritize scientific research that offers practical solutions to national challenges and contributes to sustainable development.
