38th International Olympiad in Informatics to take place in Uzbekistan
AKIPRESS.COM – The 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026) will be held in Tashkent from August 9 to August 16, UzA reported.
According to the Center for Subject Olympiads, 386 school students from 97 countries have registered for IOI 2026. The total number of participants, including delegation members, representatives of the International Committee, guests, and observers, will exceed 900.
For eight days, Tashkent will serve as an international platform for interaction among young programmers, coaches, and leading experts in informatics.
As part of preparations for the Olympiad, particular attention is paid to security, transportation, guest accommodations and catering, technical infrastructure, and the organization of a cultural program.
Uzbekistan first participated in the International Olympiad in Informatics in 2015. The national team has competed in the Olympiad 11 times, earning one silver and four bronze medals.
In 2025, team of Uzbekistan won silver and bronze medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics for the first time.
