Iraq dollar exchange rate rises in local markets

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraq dollar exchange rate increased in local currency markets on Tuesday, with the U.S. dollar gaining 1,000 Iraqi dinars compared with the previous trading session, according to market data published by local outlets.

Despite the increase in parallel market rates, the official exchange rate set by the Central Bank of Iraq remains at 131,000 Iraqi dinars per $100.

Exchange rates recorded in major Iraqi cities were as follows:

CitySelling Price (IQD per $100)Buying Price (IQD per $100)Baghdad152,750152,250Erbil152,000151,500Basra152,250152,000

The latest figures indicate that the parallel market continues to trade well above the official exchange rate, reflecting the ongoing gap between official pricing and street market demand.

Currency exchange rates in Iraq are monitored closely by businesses, importers, and consumers because fluctuations in the parallel market can affect the prices of imported goods and broader market activity.
