OTS Secretary General and Kazakhstan’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence discuss implementation of OTS satellite project
AKIPRESS.COM – Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence of Kazakhstan Zhaslan Madiyev in Astana on July 30 to discuss advancing artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and innovation across the Turkic region.
The sides focused on the implementation of the joint OTS-SAT space project – the first satellite project of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), designed to become an important milestone in the development of technological cooperation between the member states, according to the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence.
Zhaslan Madiyev noted that the development of the satellite is being carried out by Kazakhstani engineers and specialists at the Assembly and Testing Complex for Spacecraft in Astana. Currently, the engineering model of the satellite has been fully assembled, the project is being implemented in accordance with the approved schedule, and the launch of the spacecraft is planned for 2027.
Special attention was paid to the preparation of the Framework Agreement for the project’s implementation, as well as issues of financing and organizing the satellite’s launch.
Omuraliev and Madiyev also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening institutional partnership and driving economic growth through collaborative AI initiatives and regular high-level dialogue within the OTS framework.
Following the meeting, Zhaslan Madiyev expressed confidence that the successful implementation of OTS-SAT will become the first practical space project of the Organization of Turkic States, strengthen the technological partnership of the Turkic countries, and open up new opportunities for the development of joint space initiatives.
