Kuwait Municipality will launch its nationwide awareness campaign, “License Your Business… Your Steps Are Correct,” on Saturday, to encourage business owners to comply with municipal regulations, protect their investments, and strengthen a culture of adherence to licensing requirements.
Director of Public Relations and official spokesperson for Kuwait Municipality, Mohammed Al-Sundan, said the campaign will deliver a series of awareness messages targeting owners of commercial establishments across various sectors.
Al-Sundan said the initiative seeks to increase awareness of municipal laws, regulations and licensing procedures, enabling business owners to operate legally while ensuring the sustainability of their businesses. He noted that following the required licensing procedures helps businesses avoid violations, financial penalties and possible closure.
The campaign will also educate entrepreneurs on the legal and regulatory requirements governing commercial activities, helping them understand the procedures necessary to establish and operate their businesses in accordance with municipal regulations.
According to Al-Sundan, the awareness program includes sector-specific guidance tailored to the nature of different commercial activities. It will explain the municipal requirements applicable to each sector, making it easier for business owners to understand their responsibilities and comply with regulatory standards.
The campaign will further highlight the most common municipal violations recorded during inspections and provide practical guidance on how businesses can avoid them, with the goal of reducing violations through preventive awareness rather than enforcement alone.
Al-Sundan emphasized that creating a sustainable and business-friendly environment remains a key objective of the campaign.
He said compliance with municipal requirements not only protects business owners from penalties but also safeguards investments, enhances the stability of the commercial sector, improves the quality of services provided to consumers and contributes to maintaining Kuwait’s urban appearance.
He urged business owners to follow Kuwait Municipality’s official social media platforms for regular updates, guidance and awareness messages throughout the campaign, and encouraged them to contact the municipality for clarification on licensing and regulatory requirements to ensure full compliance with municipal bylaws.
