Minister of Commerce and Industry Osama Al-Boodai has issued a decision limiting eligibility for government food rations to Kuwaiti citizens, their families and domestic workers.
The decision amends Clause No. (1) of Article Five of Ministerial Resolution No. (216) of 2014, specifying the categories entitled to receive food supplies under the ration card system.
The ministry also cancelled all provisions allowing the distribution or use of subsidized food supplies by individuals outside the approved categories.
Under the new decision, food ration distribution will be suspended for anyone found to have resold or transferred subsidized supplies to others.
Violators will be referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.
