The international festival of new circus and theatre, Letní Letná 2026, will take place in Prague on August 12-31.
The festival will feature over 200 performances, workshops, concerts, and various acts by circus artists from 14 countries, including a special program for children.
This year marks the 23rd edition of the festival. Letenské sady park will once again be the main venue, with tents set up to create a mini-town complete with a coffee shop and an evening bar.
Many performances will be free of charge. Additionally, the festival will offer a rich and varied daily program: children’s shows, circus, juggling and acrobat workshops, music concerts, exhibitions, lectures, creative workshops, and more.
One of this year’s highlights is Wolf by Australia’s renowned Circa ensemble. The international lineup also includes Switzerland’s Accademia Teatro Dimitri, presenting its graduate production La Grinta, and Seismic, a collaboration between French choreographer Marie Gourdain and German artist Felix Baumann, featuring Czech performers.
The Czech program includes the premiere of Vertige by AirGym Art Company, Enola by Eliška Brtnická, new productions from Losers Cirque Company, and Hey, Earth! by Cirque La Putyka.
Emerging talent will also take center stage, with performances by CZirkidz Dance Company, Teens Cirkabaret, and recent graduates of international circus schools.
Audiences will have the chance to experience works in progress, including K voknu by Michaela Stará and Filip Zahradnický, followed by discussions with the artists.
For adults, Světla a stíny by Silk&Steel explores the darker sides of human experience through aerial and ground acrobatics, while family-friendly performances include the popular (Not Only) Juggling Galashow and Orbiting Zero by Czech juggler Aleš Hrdlička.
Beyond the performances, visitors can enjoy free workshops, children’s activities, concerts, open-air events, food stalls, bars, and relaxation areas throughout the festival grounds. Babysitting is available during selected performances, and the venue is fully accessible, making Letní Letná a festival for all ages.
