AU receives DST approval for Rs 5 Crore startup incubator | Prayagraj News


Prayagraj: Allahabad University (AU) is set to receive a major boost to its startup and innovation ecosystem, with the Department of Science and Technology (DST) approving a Rs 5 crore project to establish an inclusive technology business incubator on the campus.The project aims to help students and young innovators transform technology-driven ideas into successful startups and eventually become job creators. The proposed incubator will focus on four areas directly linked to everyday life — assistive technology, inclusive healthcare, tourism and urban development.The initiative is expected to encourage the development of startups that address real-world challenges faced by persons with disabilities, senior citizens and communities requiring better healthcare and urban services, besides creating viable business opportunities.

They will be provided technical guidance, expert mentorship, entrepreneurial support and assistance required for scaling up startups.AU Vice Chancellor, Prof Sagita Srivastava said. “The incubator would create an ecosystem where innovation is linked with social impact, allowing emerging entrepreneurs to develop practical solutions while building sustainable enterprises.”
