Two Samoa local artists have been arrested amongst the 32 individuals publicised in the latest series of drug busts carried out by Police.

The mug shots of Sapphire Esera, and Lena Bennington are posted on the Samoa Police and Prisons social media page along with the other 30 arrests.

Ms. Esera, 34, of Afiamalu and Afega is an emerging local Samoan singer known for her traditional and contemporary Pacific island music.

Her musical releases include:

• “Tusa Pe Tigā (Alofa Natia 3)”: Released as a single, this is one of her most well-known original tracks.
• “Faleolo Le Malae O Loimata”: A popular standalone single released in early 2025.
• “Suga Mo A’u”: A collaborative single featuring J-Kallen.
• “Manatua Le Alofa”: A duet recorded alongside artist Fata Solomona.
• “Ua Ou Fiu I Au Amio”: A collaborative feature song with Bill Iusi.

Ms. Bennington, 31, of Matautu Tai and Lotopa started her career as a local singer two years ago.

She is known by her songs “Faamanatu mo Oe ma Ita” as well as “Alofa ua Melea” on Youtube also.

Both suspects are remanded in custody until their first appearance in Court next week.

A total of 11 female out of 32  were arrested in the recent police raids between the 16th of June to the 23rd of July.

The Ministry of Police remains firm in its zero tolerance approach and continues to prioritise ghe safety of our communities, families and children.
