AKIPRESS.COM – Tajikistan and Mongolia hav signed 11 documents aimed at expanding and developing bilateral relations and cooperation during the state visit of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Mongolia, Montsame reported.
The two govenments signed an agreement on mutual exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
Holders of diplomatic and official passports from both countries will be able to travel visa-free for up to 30 days. This agreement is significant for strengthening the legal foundation of bilateral relations, intensifying official visits and delegation exchanges, and expanding cooperation in the political, economic, and other sectors.
Minister of Roads and Transport of Mongolia Delgersaikhan Borkhuu and Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim signed an agreement on international road transport.
This agreement will create opportunities to develop trade, transport, and economic relations, facilitate transportation, ensure coordination between transport modes, support cooperation in the road transport sector, enable transport to third countries, increase competitiveness in international markets, and open new transit routes.
Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Iderbat Tsagaankhuu and Chairman of the Food Security Committee of Tajikistan Muhammadsaid Faizullozoda signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Plant Protection and Quarantine between the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia and the Food Security Committee of Tajikistan.
The MoU aims to strengthen phytosanitary and quarantine systems, prevent the spread of harmful organisms, and establish a legal basis to ensure the safety of agricultural trade. It will harmonize phytosanitary requirements related to the import, export, and transit of plants, plant products, and other regulated goods.
Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry of Mongolia Iderbat Tsagaankhuu and Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan Qurbon Hakimzoda signed Roadmap for Cooperation in Agriculture and Food Supply for 2026-2028.
The parties will establish a working group and implement phased measures to expand trade and economic relations, increase the mutual supply of agricultural products, and facilitate information exchange between exporting enterprises.
Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Mongolia Sandag-Ochir Tsend and Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection of Tajikistan Bahodur Sheralizoda signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Pasture Restoration, Glacier Protection, and Mitigating Climate Change and Desertification.
This document will strengthen cooperation in glacier and cryosphere research and protection, reducing pasture degradation, combating desertification and land degradation, protecting biodiversity, promoting sustainable afforestation and rehabilitation, adapting to climate change, and developing green financing and carbon markets.
Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia Jaldarjavkhlan Jukov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Youth and Sports between the Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of Mongolia and the Committee for Youth and Sports.
