ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – An Albuquerque police officer arrested a suspect charged Thursday for the 2025 murder of Edrick Miller in the city.

Andrew Armijo, 27, is accused of shooting and killing the 26-year-old on May 1, 2025. Police arrested him Sunday.

“He was arrested today by an officer who saw him passed out with drug paraphernalia in the 10100 block of Central Ave., S.E. The officer discovered the murder warrant and arrested him,” APD stated Sunday.

Homicide detectives say they identified Armijo as the man seen on surveillance video riding a BMX bicycle and shooting Miller, while he was sitting on a sidewalk west of 7800 Central Ave., S.E., just west of Pennsylvania Street.

The video allegedly showed Armijo riding away on the chrome bike, heading south on Dallas St, immediately after the shooting.

Detectives tracked down the owner of the bike, who was arrested a day before the murder, according to APD. Video from that arrest allegedly showed another man who hold of the bicycle and a black backpack the murder suspect allegedly had with him the next day.

Detectives identified Armijo as the person who took hold of the bike and backpack and the shooting suspect.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Armijo on Thursday. That charged him with an open count of murder and tampering with evidence before his arrest Sunday.

Armijo will be booked into the Metro Detention Center.
