Andre Daley has sailed into the history books after winning the inaugural World Sailing Caribbean Inclusive Championship in Antigua and Barbuda, becoming the first para sailor to represent the Jamaica Paralympic Association on the international stage.

Daley, who teamed up with coach Emma Paull, dominated the three-day championship, winning seven of the ten races against competitors from Chile, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Competing in sailing for the very first time, Daley said the experience was both challenging and rewarding.

An experienced diver, Daley became a para athlete following a diving accident but quickly adapted to the sport of sailing, leading the competition from start to finish.
