The film “Three Weeks Later” (Tri Nedelje Posle) by Miroslav Terzić has won three Golden Arenas at the Pula Film Festival, joining a group of successful Serbian films at this year’s regional showcase, it was announced today.

The team was awarded the Golden Arena for Best Director, received by Terzić, as well as the same award for Best Screenplay, which went to Vladimir Arsenijević, Terzić, and Bojan Vuletić, alongside the Arena for Best Editing awarded to Marko Ferković.

In addition to Pula, the film achieved acclaim at the 60th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where it also won the prestigious Europa Cinemas Label award.

“For a stylistically crafted world that faithfully depicts the violence, helplessness, and pessimism of contemporary society, leaving a powerful impression on the viewer,” the Pula jury stated in its official explanation.

Inspired by true events, “Three Weeks Later” follows a group of high school students who go on a previously planned school trip three weeks after the tragic death of a classmate.

What begins as an attempt to return to everyday life escalates into a confrontation with issues of responsibility, silence, peer violence, and collective guilt, with the lead roles played by Jovan Ginić, Klara Karaulić, Anđela Alavirević, Andrija Marković, Tihana Lazović, and Branislav Trifunović, the statement notes.

Among the domestic releases, the films “Wind, Talk to Me” by Stefan Đorđević and “Our Father” by Goran Stanković also won awards.

Actor Vučić Perović won the Golden Arena for Best Actor in a Leading Role in “Our Father”.

Alongside the awards they won, the productions attracted significant attention from industry professionals and critics, who rated them among the most notable works of this year’s Pula Film Festival, the statement adds.
