History was made at this year’s Jamaica Skeet Club National Sporting Clays Championship, as Aliana McMaster became the first female highest overall winner of the prestigious 200-Bird National Sporting Clays Championship.
Battling searing heat, high winds and rain over two days at the Worthy Park Sugar Factory in Ewarton, St. Catherine, McMaster outshot a field of 154 competitors to claim the title.
She led the main event with a score of 177 out of 200 before sealing victory in the intense Super Six shoot-off, finishing with an overall total of 195.
Christian Sasso finished runner-up on 191, edging Roman Tavares-Finson after an additional shoot-off to also secure the A Class title.
McMaster also captured the Ladies and Junior titles, marking her fourth Ladies championship.
She credited the challenging course and her focus throughout the competition for the historic victory.
