Liberia Praises Success of Asian-African Parliamentary Council Conference in Benghazi

Benghazi – Aguila Saleh, Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the Afro-Asian Parliamentary Assembly, received a congratulatory message from Richard Ngafuan Koon, Speaker of Liberia’s House of Representatives, celebrating the success of the second Afro-Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in Benghazi on June 15 and 16, 2026.

Speaker Koon praised the organization and achievements of the conference. He said the event highlighted Libya’s important role in strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Asia and Africa.

Koon also commended Aguila Saleh’s leadership, noting the progress made under his guidance, which has increased the assembly’s international presence and established the foundations for partnership between the parliaments of both continents.

The Liberian speaker further recognized Saud Rashid Al-Hajailan, First Vice President of the Afro-Asian Parliamentary Assembly, for his efforts in building and developing this international parliamentary platform. He emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between Asian and African parliamentary institutions.
