Defending champions Argentina scored twice in seven minutes, including an added time winner, to book a spot in Sunday’s final of the FIFA World Cup after beating England 2-1 in a crunch semi-final at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Wednesday.
Anthony Gordon shot England in front in the 55th minute, a lead they held until Enzo Fernandez scored a stunner in the 85th minute for the champions.
Lautaro Martinez then came off the bench to power home a Lionel Messi right sided cross in the 92nd minute to break English hearts.
Argentina will now head to New Jersey for Sunday’s big showdown with Spain at Metlife Stadium starting at 2pm while England heads to Miami for a third place playoff against France.
