The races are set for Sept. 16-20.

ROSWELL, N.M. — The field is set for the second annual National Championship Air Races in Roswell, set for Sept. 16-20, 2026.

This year’s Air Races will see the return of the Unlimited and Sport classes. Organizers expect around 90 “elite pilots” from across the United States and around the world, including from Australia and Switzerland. That includes champions Josh Watson (Formula One class), Tom Marden (Biplane), Chris LeFave (T-6) and Bob McCormack (Jet).

“We’re ecstatic to announce our September Family is whole once again at the National Championship Air Races. We’ve had many discussions with all classes so we would be able to achieve a full field this year and it’s come to fruition. Now, first-time attendees and longtime race fans will be able to witness the complete roster of classes race in Roswell,” RARA CEO Fred Telling said.

This year’s races will also feature a jet class mock course. It’s a combination of speed and the spectacle of jet racing. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will also perform. You can also check out a wide array of static aircraft displays.

Tickets are still available for the Air Races. If you’re looking for a room in Roswell, organizers say rooms are “limited.” However, space is available in nearby towns like Artesia, Ruidoso, Alamogordo and Portales. Camping is also available.
