PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has announced that government will recruit 2,600 health workers as part of ongoing efforts to create jobs and improve service delivery.

Addressing a large gathering in Chongwe District today, President Hichilema thanked residents for turning up “in unprecedented numbers.”

“We will continue to deliver for you because we love and care for you,” he said.

The President said agriculture remains a top priority for government to ensure national food security. He also pledged continued work on Chongwe rural roads and on resolving water challenges.

On jobs, President Hichilema said: “If we have not employed you but you know someone else who has been employed by the UPND Government Administration, then don’t lose hope, you are next in line.”

He further committed to continue lowering the cost of living and urged voters to support UPND on August 13, 2026.
