Looking for a festive way to kick off the holiday weekend? Garvan Woodland Gardens is inviting families to celebrate America’s 250th birthday during Red, White & Bloom on Friday, July 3.

The patriotic celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feature family-friendly activities, local food vendors and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beauty of the 210-acre botanical garden.

Throughout the day, guests can make patriotic crafts at the Pavilion, enjoy festive music, explore emergency vehicles and meet local first responders. Four local food vendors will be on-site serving a variety of food and treats, while the Chipmunk Café will also be open.

As part of the celebration, the first 250 guests through the gates will be entered for a chance to win a free Garvan Woodland Gardens membership.

Families can also take advantage of free admission for children 12 and younger with a paying adult. Garden members receive free admission as part of their membership.

Beyond the festivities, visitors can spend the day strolling through colorful summer blooms, enjoying lakeside views and experiencing the internationally acclaimed “Where the Wind Lives” art installation by Poetic Kinetics, all included with admission.
