Matthew McGowan and Romone Spence produced outstanding performances to guide the Papine Kings and JDF to impressive victories in Tuesday’s GK ONE Howard McCatty Community Basketball League.
McGowan poured in a game-high 26 points as the Papine Kings cruised to a comfortable 67-39 victory over Police.
The Kings controlled the contest from start to finish, using a balanced offensive display and solid defensive effort to secure the convincing 28-point win.
Despite the loss, David Peck battled hard for Police, finishing with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.
In the second game of the evening, JDF defeated Nannyville Youths 69-53 behind an 18-point performance from Romone Spence.
JDF maintained control throughout the contest, pulling away in the second half to seal a 16-point victory.
Mark Morgan led the resistance for Nannyville Youths with a game-high 19 points, but his efforts were not enough to prevent JDF from claiming the win.
