The Opposition People’s National Party, PNP, has extended its condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Oswald Harding.
Harding, a former Attorney General, Senate President, and Jamaica Labour Party stalwart, passed away early Thursday morning.
He was 90 years old.
The PNP, in a statement Thursday afternoon, says Harding served Jamaica for many years as a Senator, King’s Counsel, and public servant.
The Opposition says as the country’s longest-serving Senator, he played a significant role in Jamaica’s parliamentary democracy and contributed to the nation’s legal and legislative development through decades of public service.
The PNP says Harding was a patriotic Jamaican who placed the interests of the country above partisan considerations.
His passing marks the end of a long career in public life and national service.
The PNP says it extends its sincere sympathies to his loved ones and all those mourning his loss.
