US and Iran scheduled for technical talks since Jun 30

AKIPRESS.COM – Technical-level talks between the United States and Iran are scheduled to begin on June 30, CNN reported with reference to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Speaking to reporters in Kuwait, Rubio stated that the upcoming session will feature working-level representatives from the State Department, the Department of Energy, and other relevant agencies.

The Secretary of State emphasized that Iran needs to grant nuclear inspectors entry as soon as possible, noting that this is an outstanding commitment made by the Iranian side that must be fulfilled.

These comments follow statements from US President Donald Trump, who recently announced that American inspectors would join experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to locate Iran’s stockpiles of highly enriched uranium, while clarifying that there is no immediate rush in the matter.

Tehran, however, continues to deny that it ever agreed to any such obligations regarding the admission of inspectors.
