Kyrgyzstan among major suppliers of fruits and vegetables to Irkutsk region in EAEU region

AKIPRESS.COM – A total of 1,300 tons of fruit and vegetabls alongside over 86,000 seedlings and plants entered Irkutsk from EAEU member states under the supervision of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for Irkutsk Region and the Republic of Buryatia.

The main exporters during this period were Kyrgyzstan with 472 tons, Kazakhstan with 451 tons, and Belarus with 330 tons.

Despite these significant import volumes, many shipments are arriving without prior notification to Rosselkhoznadzor, which constitutes a violation of plant quarantine regulations.

In response to these procedural breaches, the agency announced that 81 formal warnings have been issued to 41 operating business entities involved in the trade.
