German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to visit Uzbekistan as part of Asian tour

AKIPRESS.COM – German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is scheduled to visit Uzbekistan during a five-day tour of Asia that also includes stops in Indonesia and the Philippines.

Accompanied by his wife and a high-profile business delegation, the President’s itinerary in Tashkent includes a visit to the local branch of the German construction company GP Günter Papenburg.

Discussions during the diplomatic visit are expected to focus on skilled labor migration.

According to data provided by the German presidential administration, Uzbekistan currently has the highest number of people studying the German language of any country in Asia.
