In implementation of the directives of the Director-General of Jordan Customs, Ahmad Al-Akalik, the Jordan Customs Department has reinforced its personnel at the Al-Omari customs center. This measure, carried out in partnership and coordination with various security and regulatory agencies operating at the center, comes in preparation for the summer vacation season and the return of expatriates, aiming to facilitate and expedite procedures within a flexible framework that ensures the smooth flow of passengers and cargo through the border crossing.اضافة اعلان
This action comes in response to a noticeable increase in the number of arrivals, departures, and freight movement, as statistical data for entry and exit operations over the past month indicated a surge in traffic volume through the center.
In cooperation and coordination with security and regulatory bodies, Jordan Customs handled more than 350,000 passengers, over 120,000 vehicles, and more than 50,000 cargo trucks.
The Jordan Customs Department emphasized that reinforcing human resources is part of an integrated plan aimed at raising operational readiness and providing the best services to travelers, investors, and the transport sector, while maintaining the highest levels of customs and security control.
Al-Akalik pointed out that the department continuously monitors traffic indicators at border crossings and implements necessary proactive measures to manage any anticipated increase in passenger and cargo volumes. This ensures the facilitation of transit and the reduction of waiting times, particularly during the summer season, which witnesses heightened activity and the return of large numbers of Jordanian expatriates.
The Jordan Customs Department commended the efforts of all security and regulatory authorities working at the Al-Omari customs center, stressing that joint cooperation and coordination among various agencies contribute to delivering high-quality services that reflect the civilized image of the Kingdom and enhance operational efficiency at border ports.
