Interdepartmental consular consultations between the Kyrgyz Republic and China were held in Bishkek to discuss the issue of extradition. The Kyrgyz side asked their Chinese counterparts for further assistance and to expedite the consideration of applications for the extradition of citizens of Kyrgyzstan serving sentences in China.

Another important topic of discussion was visa liberalization between Kyrgyzstan and China. The parties emphasized the importance of simplifying and expediting procedures for issuing permits for citizens in order to strengthen tourism and business ties.

Representatives of the Foreign Ministries placed particular emphasis on protecting the rights and interests of compatriots and commercial enterprises in the two countries.

The delegations were headed by the Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Seitek Zhumakadyr uulu, and the Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Long Zhou.
