An International Youth Tourism Forum-Festival under the motto «Friendship, Unity and Cooperation» is being held in the city of Kadamdzhay in Batken region. The press service of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the region reported.
According to the statement, the event aims to develop Kyrgyzstan’s tourism potential, strengthen interregional ties, foster friendly relations with neighboring countries, and promote national traditions, crafts, culture, and sports activities.
The event began with a flag-raising ceremony in Kadamdzhay attended by Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative Mamyrzhan Rakhimov, Kadamdzhay district head Bolotkan Bayake uulu, and 100 young leaders from different regions of the country.
The program then continued at the central stadium, where officials together with delegations from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan visited the fourth carpet festival, exhibitions of artisans, and a fair featuring products from local manufacturers. They also took part in the Technofest career guidance event for young inventors.
During the official ceremony, the opening of the tourist season was formally launched.
Festive cultural events, including songs and dance performances, were organized for residents throughout the day. A large gala concert is planned for participants and guests.
As part of the broader program, football and volleyball competitions, a business forum for young entrepreneurs, and the Akylman Ordo intellectual competition among young teachers and school students were held earlier in Kadamdzhay and Kyzyl-Kiya.
A marathon involving around 2,000 women was also organized during the forum.
The forum-festival is being held with the support of the United Nations and the International Organization for Migration.
