WILLISTON – The hopes for Jamestown Blue Jays Baseball to avoid the play-in round of the WDA Tournament took a big hit on Friday.

Williston swept a pair from Jamestown 9-4 and 8-5 at Ardean Aafedt Stadium.

Game 1: Williston 9, Jamestown 4
Ashton Nickoloff tripled, homered, singled and drove in four runs for Williston (14-12, 8-9 WDA). Justin Irgens struck out nine for the Coyotes.

Bennett Goehner, Brenner Weber and Haden Smith drove in runs for Jamestown (8-11, 8-9 WDA). Hudson Rode (0-3) allowed seven runs and seven hits in five innings.

Game 2: Williston 8, Jamestown 5
A six-run first inning proplled Williston (15-12, 9-9) to the sweep. McCrae Heller hit a two-run double in that big inning. Brooks Bratlien drove in two runs.

Smith had two hits and an RBI for the Blue Jays (8-12, 8-10). Weber also had two hits. Cody Busch (2-2) gave up six runs, four hits and four walks in one inning for the loss.

Jamestown will play their last two WDA regular season games Monday against Minot North at Corbett Field in Minot. Coverage will begin at 4:15 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
