Seven people, including one juvenile, were hurt in downtown Oakland early Saturday morning when a car drove onto the sidewalk, according to multiple reports.
Oakland police officers, who were in the area of 18th Street and Telegraph Avenue responding to 911 calls of a brawl between several people, received reports of a driver going onto the sidewalk in the 500 block of 18th Street about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, according to reports.
Police found six people, including a juvenile, injured at the scene. All of the victims were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were listed in stable condition. A seventh victim was taken privately to a nearby hospital, and also listed in stable condition. The identities of the victims are unknown.
“Thanks to community tips and evidence, OPD is following up on multiple leads and expects to arrest the driver in the near future,” police told KRON4.
According to KTVU, the female suspect was reportedly driving a red Hyundai sedan, which was abandoned at the scene.
